What we run, and how.

A small fleet does one thing properly rather than four things adequately. Ours is scheduled linehaul for FedEx Ground out of the Fife terminal, run under FedEx operating authority.

The three configurations we run, drawn to the same scale. Doubles require a doubles endorsement and add a coupling procedure that single-trailer work does not.

Service: Scheduled terminal-to-terminal linehaul under contract to FedEx Ground, operating from the Fife terminal.
Freight handling: Drop and hook, no-touch. Drivers exchange trailers rather than load or unload, which keeps turn times predictable and keeps drivers out of the dock.
Trailer configurations: 28 ft pups, 53 ft vans, and sets of doubles. Our drivers hold the doubles endorsement and are trained on converter dolly coupling, so a doubles set is normal work here rather than an exception.
Coverage: Seven days a week, including holiday peak. Round trip, multi-stop and closed-loop routes.
Fleet: 6 power units. Newer day cabs, maintained on scheduled intervals rather than run to failure.
Visibility: GPS and Motive telematics on every unit. Pickups, deliveries and dwell are tracked in transit, not reported afterwards.
Administration: Dispatch, payroll, compliance and driver support run in house. A driver calls a person, not a queue.

We operate late-model sleeper and day cab tractors to ensure reliability. With a young fleet and stringent preventive maintenance program, our equipment is ready for your shipments 24 hours a day.

Technology

We also use the latest technology to communicate with our drivers, monitor pickups and deliveries, and troubleshoot any roadblocks we may encounter. With GPS tracking and a robust transportation management system provided by Omnitacs, we make sure your freight is accounted and traced for every step of the way.

Nobody here is a number.

The roster moves with the season, because peak needs more drivers than March does. What does not change is that the person who signs for this company knows every driver by name, which units they run and which lanes they hold. Dispatch is a call to someone who already knows who you are rather than a ticket in a queue, and turn times hold because nothing gets lost between people.

How the contract works.

US Logistics is a contracted service provider to FedEx Ground and runs under FedEx operating authority. We supply the equipment, the qualified drivers and the maintenance program. The freight, the lanes and the authority are FedEx's.
